Nature As A Mirror - Zach Brackett
In the "Tao Of Leadership" by John Heider we see an intriguing passage which presents nature as a place of reflection where we can go and look upon ourselves. "Imagine that there is a pond in this valley. When no fears or desires stir the surface of the pond, the water forms a perfect mirror." What is the purpose of a mirror, it is for us to view ourselves through of course. As John Heider uses this illustration of nature as a mirror for ourselves we can even take it deeper, how do we see ourselves in this mirror? Well for starters the same God which created nature (our mirror) created us, however their is one major difference in the two: we as humans were created in God's image where as nature was not. It is for this reason that as we look at nature and reflect we should see God because he both created nature and also lives in us if we give our lives to Him.
