Even The Little Things - Zach Brackett
As I sat quietly listening to everything around me: the wind, the birds, cars driving by, and the sound of the river I was drawn towards this ant scurrying around simply going about its business. As I thought about this ant I thought of how small it was and to us how insignificant it was, I mean if we see one in our house our first reaction is to kill it. As I continued to think about this ant I began to think of how intricately made the ant really was, despite it's small size it's a master work of genius. As I continued to allow my thoughts to flow freely I thought about how similar we are to that ant. If we look at the universe and then look at ourselves we then suddenly become very small and insignificant, though we may think highly of ourselves if we really think about it we are just as small as that ant. What really intrigues me is that though we are so small, just as the ant, the God who created everything we see (including us and that ant) loves us so much that He would send His son to die so that he could have a relationship with us. Though we in and of ourselves are so small and not worthy God still desired that relationship with us. It is amazing that you can see all of this so clearly simply by watching an ant scurry around and gather food.
