The Fallen Tree - Zach Brackett

As we walked through the woods at the Noland Trail I came upon a tree which to many others would just be another fallen tree, just another showing of the cycle of life. However, to me this tree reveled something very important about life as I allowed God to speak through His creation. As I looked at this tree I noticed that about 3 feet of the trunk was still standing strong as the rest of the tree lay on the ground rotting beside it. As I began to think about this tree I believe we can learn a valuable life lesson as we seek to answer the questions: "What is our foundation? Does it stand strong? Is our foundation firm enough to withstand the storm?" I also noticed that the tree had seemingly fallen because it had begun to rot somewhere in the middle of the tree which caused it to be weak and thus it could not stand the winds of the storm. Are there in weaknesses in our lives that are causing us to "rot" and could eventually lead to our fall?
