Again, from Landscapes of the Sacred, Lane brings up the topic of how outer space can be a sacred place. Naturally, this contradicts his book’s title, how can it be a sacred landscape if there is no land present to be sacred. I fully understand how Lane sees the universe as sacred, it is perfectly quiet, never night and never day, and even though you can always see the sun you can also see the stars.
Whether you call it an area, a place, an empty void; with characteristics like those listed above how can such a place be unsacred?
