Kasey Arnold...The Noland Trail
The trail is always exciting. I start walking near the Mariner’s Museum. I love the long bridges and the beauty of the water. There is something refreshing about water that allows a since of serenity. Water is calming. The James River is gorgeous, especially in the spring. The mallard ducks are out with their offspring. The trees are budding and becoming greener. It’s gives off the feeling of everything being alive. What is wonderful about the trail is that no matter how many times you walk it, it never gets boring. The trail never gets old. It has new adventures, new discoveries awaiting every turn. Today, I discovered how massive the trees are. I went right up to one, hugging the trunk, and looked up. My eyes were parallel with the colossal trunk. I looked up and saw huge and small branches coming out. The tree was breathtaking from this point of view. In Romans 1:21, Paul writes that by looking at Nature, people are guaranteed of God’s omnipresence and omnipotence. Through walking the trail, I find just this. He must be glorified in what he has created. He is the Creator. Nothing else can explain the beauty of this world.
