Making Nature Sacred 1 Megan Napier

On page 107 Gatta writes about the book, An Island Garden and says "Thaxter elaborates her belief that horticulture can be a practical expression of love, divine praise, and worship."

I think that this statement is interesting yet true. I never thought of worshiping mother nature and through gardening. But after I saw this it makes sense. We as humans go to get hair cuts and get our nails done to make ourselves look better. Although that isn't quite worshipping ourselves, its still the same when you participate in horticulture. Planting beautiful flowers, and improving our surroundings is an expression of love. It shows that you actually care about the health of your Earth, and the way it appears. I participate in gardening and planting flowers, and this has given me a whole new way of looking at it.
