The Gift of Nothing In a Desert Landscape Megan Napier

This section in The Solace of Fierce Landscapes struck me as odd. Lane discusses how being in the desert can give one's self a new insight to who they are. They use landscape as their healing, and for some it even opens them up and they see right into who they are. It is as if being in the desert gives people time to just concentrate on themselves and look within themselves to find who they are. I personally have never had a chance to go out west and visit a desert. I never even really wanted to go to a desert because they thought of hot temperatures and no water for miles scares me. But now after reading this section I think that it would be nice to go and see these terrains and maybe even look deeper into myself and have an experience similar to those in the book.
