Jason Martin "Adders"

In class the other day, we were talking about running into wild animals while in Nature. We talked of how when you are faced with the animal the fear doesnt hit you until post run in. Well when i lived in England, about thirty miles south of London was eight years old. As an eightyear old I spent much time in the wooded areas behind our house playing, it was the biggest playground ever. Mass amounts of trees to climb places to hide. Me and my friend were running and i remember him falling and instantly starting to cry. The sceam from him mixed with the loudest hiss you have ever heard happened. I looked diectly behind him and the reason as to why he had fallen was apparent. He was bitten by a three foot snake grey in color. I threw some kind of rock and the snake scurried off. Later i learned it was an adder which has poisinous bite which is rarely fatal to adult humans. Mind you I was eight and my friend was ten, he was rushed to the hospital and survived. I was never really afraid of the snake at the time, but now looking back, what if i had gotten bit?
