Story, The Language Of The Heart - Zach Brackett

In the book "Epic" by John Eldredge he makes the statement that "story is the language of the heart". As I read this statement in this book I could not help but think back to Belden Lane as he said "sacred place is storied place". How do these two statements connect? How are our hearts language being that of stories and sacred place being constructed on stories connected? If we truly think about this I believe that the connection is somewhat simple, our hearts love stories because they yearn for the sacred. Let me explain: If "story is the language of the heart" and "storied place is sacred place" then our heart must not long solely for stories but it goes deeper than that, rather our heart is longing for the sacred. Our heart desires to be connected with the sacred!
